The interstice of stealing and failing
I’ve been following the tumblr of Austin Kleon lately on the topic of stealing, re: artists. Like he has probably pointed out many times (can’t recall specifics, and even so, maybe I can inadvertently steal his words for good measure), stealing and copying ain’t nothin’ new. Google it. But my real point is this:
Failure is the point where copying/stealing either fails hard...
Have you ever really looked at people’s mouths? I mean, really.

About Brand Coding
An excerpt from an interview with one of my favorite “Jack of All Trade” Designers, Mike Meiré. His work is very much worth an in depth look.
To what extent can these be transferred to depth psychology, the brand? I am a supporter of the brand evolution, because it’s about survival strategies. And life is evolution. Spirit refers to the inside of a brand. The marketing...

UX Designer as Ringmaster
Reading a bit on the usability craze earlier today this popped into my head. While fundamental, I think stopping at simply being “usable” is really disappointing.
Being a UX Designer is a lot like being a Circus Ringmaster. Putting all the focus on usability is a lot like walking into the Big Top, tickets in hand, and the Ringmaster yells out through their bullhorn, “Ladies and...

Dear Follower,
Though my Tumblr has been true to its tumbl roots, I’m not really feeling excited by reposts, links, etc. I’m sure many a blog has a similar declaration of “things will be changing”, only to end with no change, no posts, or even no more blog. But, my dearest reader, “Things will be changing”, he said believing-himselfily. We run into the great debate; less of...
